NIDEK Technologies is part of the NIDEK CO., LTD. group, a leading Japanese company in the healthcare industry. Our facility, located in Albignasego (PD), is the European Research and Development center of the group. WHAT DO WE WORK ON?

NIDEK Technologies deals with the design and prototyping of HW/SW solutions. While HW prototypes are then engineered and manufactured by the Japanese mother company, we are often in charge of production SW. Typically, we work on:

• Innovative medical devices
• Machine vision systems for medical data acquisition
• Modern user interfaces for clinical applications
• Information systems for eye clinics

HOW DO WE WORK?

The projects are entrusted to small/medium-sized work groups, composed by 2-10 people with mixed HW/SW skills, coordinated by a project manager, who takes care of product management, planning and communication with stakeholders, and by a technical leader, who provides technical direction and organizes the work.

The work environment is an open space, where informal discussion with colleagues is encouraged. Some dedicated meeting rooms are equipped for brainstorming and meetings. We typically use laptop computers, each equipped with a docking station for maximum flexibility in collaborating.

Each workstation has two monitors and a comfortable ergonomic chair. The environment is technically challenging, but friendly: we work as a group, focusing on the team’s growth and synergy. Personal initiative and interaction with colleagues are highly encouraged, including interdisciplinary cooperation.

HOW DOES THE SELECTION PROCESS WORK?

If your skills and experience match the profile we are looking for, we will arrange an initial interview to get to know each other. If you pass this first screening step, we will move on to one or more technical interviews, conducted by people from your prospective work group. Within a few weeks of the technical interview, we will let you know our final decision and possibly make you an offer.

WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?

We are looking for talented and motivated developers who know how to make the most of programming techniques
to achieve the assigned goals, creating well-designed, easily reusable and maintainable code. We encourage people
to apply even without any experience in the healthcare field.

Open Positions:

Embedded/Desktop software engineer (SW03)

Depending on the project, the work will require a mixture of:

• Developing/maintaining applications operating medical instrumentation
• Creating user interfaces
• Writing algorithms and backend logics
• Interfacing with and controlling HW
• Drafting technical documentation

To best fulfill this role, it is mandatory to have the following: 

• At least Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject
• At least 3/4 years of working experience in the SW development field
• Excellent teamworking and communication skills
• Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language among C++ or C#
• Good knowledge of the English language, both written and oral (B2 level)

It could be an advantage for us if you have the following:

• Experience in multithreading programming
• Experience with UX design
• Knowledge of the Qt/QML or WPF frameworks

Full-stack web application engineer (SW02)

Depending on the project, the work will require a mixture of:

• Developing/maintaining applications for eye-care clinical applications
• Creating user interfaces
• Writing backend logics
• Drafting technical documentation

To best fulfill this role, it is mandatory to have the following:

• Some years of working experience in the web application development field
• Aptitude for teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Experience in the development of multi-tier applications and the dependency-injection pattern
• Experience in the development of single-page applications (SPA) based on JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience in the development of JSON based web APIs
• Experience in database design
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal (B2 level)

It could be an advantage for us if you have the following:

• Experience with Angular/ASP.NET stack using C# language
• Experience with MS SQL Server and/or SQLite databases
• Knowledge of Angular Material
• Knowledge of SignalR
• Knowledge of React
